Labor day weekend was an eventful affair for me. I did many things, ranging from cooking, a sleepover, and playing Roblox.
Food has always been an essential part of my life. One of my favorite pastimes is trying new cuisines. I enjoy eating anything from Indian to Thai to Mexican food, and am always seeking out new types of food. I particularly like spicy food.
I also enjoy eating baked goods and sweets. My favorite sweet is ice cream. I like chocolate chip, vanilla, and chocolate flavors best. In the past, I have made ice cream at home using milk, ice, and salt. I enjoy baking sweets in my oven as well. Cooking in an an oven is my ultimate desire when I’m feeling hungry. In addition to sweets, I also bake pot pies and pasta and casseroles.
However, I am very picky with what goes into my food. I do not like chocolate chips in my cookies so I sift them out in the middle of the night. Unfortunately, my creations will sometimes never reach the oven.
This is because my oven goes in and out of its perpetually broken state. One day it can be working just fine, but the next it is completely defunct! So to combat this issue, my parents finally bought a new oven.
Now, I have a working utility to bake my goods. I have a friend who enjoys staying at my house. When the new oven arrived, we cheered. Soon after, we baked cookies, cakes, and a pizza.
After our meal was prepared, we settled down in my living room to watch Netflix. We watched The Princess and The Frog by Disney. Our movie finished around 11:30.
For a while, we just talked. However, we soon got hungry again. We snuck into the kitchen to make some smoothies. Although it was the middle of the night, we successfully made our smoothies without waking my family up.
Afterwards, we went to bed, though our slumber only lasted about an hour. We woke up around 3 am this time. Since everyone was asleep, we decided our best bet was to play roblox with the volume turned down.
We played roblox until around 5 am. Finally, we were tired enough to fall into a deep slumber. My friend and I slept until 9:00.
My friend had to go home at noon, so we used our time wisely and caught up on our favorite show, Dance Moms. When the time came for my friend to leave, I bid her goodbye.
Later that day, we went to Santa Monica Pier. I have not been there since I was 7. My brother and I rode the ferris wheel on Pacific Park. We took lots of pictures together.
My parents friends from India were also there. They had flown all the way to America just to visit my family. It was nice to see them after so many years.
The next day, we visited another beach. We took our guests to Newport Beach and they were enthralled by its beauty. We stayed until sunset before we headed out. For dinner, we ate burritos from a food truck near by.
In conclusion, I had a very fun and relaxing Labor Day weekend.
